In the software department, Google will be introducing a new launcher for Google Pixel 4, which will have many features. One of the most interesting features is coming to the Pixel 4 launcher is its swipe down gesture to pull down the notification tray.
This gesture is a very handy feature that lets you pull down the notification tray by swiping down in a blank space on the homepage. Many third-party launchers and few OEM devices already have this feature, and it took years for Google to implement it finally. This feature is handy, especially when you consider that our phone is getting bigger every year and reaching on the top of a phone is becoming harder.
If you own an older phone, you can also get this new feature on your Pixel devices. As reported by the 9to5Google, the new launcher which enables this functionality is currently out and available to be installed on older Pixel devices. How to Enable Pixel 4 Notification Gesture on Older Pixel Devices?
Step-1. First of all, you need to download the Pixel 4 Launcher from APKMirror Website.
Step-2. After downloading the APK, install the app. You may get an error that says that the app can not be installed as it is downloaded from an unknown source. If that happens to you, tap on “Settings” and toggle the switch that says “allow from this source.”
Step-3. Installing this app will override your previous Pixel Launcher. Now go back to your homepage and swipe down on the blank space to bring down the notification tray.
It is as simple as that.
This version of Pixel Launcher is not yet available officially, and it may have few bugs. If you are facing any bugs, then I would suggest you uninstall this app and go back to the previous version of the Pixel Launcher.
How to Uninstall Pixel 4 Launcher on Older Pixel Devices?
To uninstall the pixel 4 launcher, open settings app on your phone. Go to installed apps, or you can directly search for “Pixel Launcher” in the search box.
Tap on the three vertical dots on the right-top corner and select “Uninstall updates.”
This should uninstall Pixel 4 launcher and revert back to the previous version of the app.
