With Over 100 Million Downloads, Call of Duty Mobile Has the Best Launch Ever

Call of Duty Mobile is a first-person shooter game for Android and iOS devices. CoD launched last week for both Android and iOS after months of testing under the beta program. In just a week of its launch, Call of Duty has been downloaded over 100 million times, making it the highest download for any game in the first week.

According to a report published on Sensor Tower, CoD has had the biggest launch with over 100 million downloads in the first week of its launch. Earlier the title for most downloads in the first week was held by Mario Kart Tour, which had 90 Million downloads in the first week. Call of Duty Mobile will be competing with Fortnite and PUBG Mobile, and if we compare the first-week performance of both Fortnite and PUBG Mobile, CoD is way ahead of them. Fortnite, in its first week, was able to reach 22.5 million downloads and was only available for iOS users. PUBG Mobile, however, was available for both Android and iOS at its launch and was able to attract 28 million downloads in the first week.

According to the same Sensor Tower report, the majority of Call of Duty mobile downloads came from iOS users. CoD Mobile saw a total of 56.9 million downloads or 55.7% on iOS while 45.3 million downloads or 44.3% on Android. Out of the 100 million total downloads, the USA top the chart with 17.3 million downloads or 16.9%, followed by India with 13.7 million downloads or 13.4% and Brazil in third with 7.1 million downloads or 7% of the total count.

Not just in downloads, Call of Duty Mobile also outperformed PUBG Mobile and Fortnite in the first-week revenue. In the first week of its launch, Call of Duty Mobile generated a total of $17.7 million in revenue. Out of the $17.7 million, iOS users contributed 53% or $9.1 million, and Android users contributed 47% or $8.3 million. If we compare this revenue with Fortnite and PUBG Mobile’s first-week revenue, then it is clear that Call of Duty has the biggest launch ever. In the first-week, Fortnite had bought $2.3 million, and PUBG Mobile had generated only $600,000.

The USA again topped the chart and this time for total spending on CoD Mobile game. Sensor Tower claims that the USA contributed $7.6 million of total revenue, followed by Japan with $2.4 million and finally Brazil in the third place with $848,000 in the first week.
